What is ESG?

Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) refers to the three categories of information involved in measuring the sustainability and ethical impact of a company or business.

Why is ESG important?

Increasingly, ESG criteria are being linked to risks and performance in companies, and their license to operate. This in turn affects the investors and banks that finance them.

What does ESG tell investors?

Environmental criteria show how a company performs as a steward of the natural environment. Social criteria shows how a company manages relationships with its employees, suppliers, customers and the communities where it operates. Governance relates to a company’s leadership, executive pay, audits and internal controls and shareholder rights.

How this workshop will benefit you?

Focusing on the wrong ESG factors can waste a company’s time and money. Focusing on the right factors - the ones that are relevant to business goals and what stakeholders care about most - can save money, boost reputation, and result in better financial and business performance. This training will show you how to consider these opportunities when making decisions about investing in and engaging with companies.
